Delta Blues Museum

Clarksdale, MS

In celebration of his 2012 Kennedy Center Honors award for an indelible contribution to rock-n-roll, the Delta Blues Museum pays tribute to the one and only Robert Plant.

An English rock god with the soul of a bluesman, Robert's voice has helped define rock music in a career that spans 40 years and counting, but his early inspiration was drawn from the music of Delta blues musicians like Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon and, most considerably, Sonny Boy Williamson.

Since the days of Led Zeppelin, Robert's musical collaborations have been far-reaching and award-winning, earning him Grammy nominations and awards forhis work with artists like T-Bone Burnett, Allison Krauss and Buddy Miller. The Delta Blues Museum was honored to host Robert and his Sensational Space Shifters in his debut performance in Clarksdale, headlining this year's Sunflower River Blues & Gospel Festival.

In his own words, Robert says, "Clarksdale is a sort of 'condition' I've had since I was a kid." Watch the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors ceremony on CBS on December 26th, and learn more about the lives and music of the Blues legends who influenced Robert Plant and others at the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale, Mississippi - the Land Where Blues Began.
