History of the King Biscuit Festival
"From the Archives" - History of the King Biscuit Festival, held in the Delta Blues Museum classroom, October 4, 2012. A panel led by Terry Buckalew, who has written about the Helena blues scene.
Buckalew leads a discussion about the Festival, its roots with the "King Biscuit Time" radio show, and the festival's music, including the Jelly Roll Kings, who featured Delta musician Sam Carr, the subject of an exhibit in our galleries.
This is the second in the "From the Archives" series, sponsored by the Mississippi Humanities Council.
This podcast is a part of the Museum's "From the Archive" series, which programs are financially assisted by the National Endowment for the Humanities through the Mississippi Humanities Council. They are also generously made possible by the Mississippi Arts Commission, Entergy. Micheal Loyd Young, Friends of the Delta Blues Museum and community donations.
