Delta
Blues E-Vite
July 08, 2014
"GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN" EXHIBIT OPENING
July 17th from 5 - 7 p.m.
Delta Blues Museum
Curated by Delta historian and photographer Billy
Johnson, "Gone But Not Forgotten" features color photography
highlighting Delta Blues artists who left behind more
than memories.
"At these festivals the crowd
saw the entertainers on the stage. These photos capture
the friendships and camaraderie backstage. Festivals are
more of a reunion among friends than a job." ~ Billy Johnson
"Billy Johnson has been a
friend, fan, supporter and promoter of Delta Blues artists.
His images capture the carefree, human moments on and off
the stage. The artists' ease with Billy and camaraderie
amongst themselves really shows through." ~ Shelley Ritter,
Museum Director
