Down in the Delta,
it's Blues Festival Time!

The crowning event is the King Biscuit Blues Festival held in Helena, Arkansas, just across the river from Clarksdale. It derives from the long-running "King Biscuit Time" radio show on KFFA which broadcast Delta Blues beginning in 1941. The King Biscuit Festival began in 1986 and hosts blues artists on multiple stages throughout downtown Helena. This year's event takes place October 5th through the 8th. Helena is 30 miles (roughly 30 minutes) from Clarksdale, so it's an easy drive across the mighty Mississippi River to visit Delta Blues Museum - make plans to stop by!

Also coming up, the Deep Blues Festival takes place in Clarksdale from October 13th through the 16th. This festival features traditional and alternative blues played by musicians from all over the world.
