Welcome to the land where blues began

DELTA BLUES MUSEUM THANKS YOU!

November 03, 2017

Clarksdale, Mississippi

Dear Friends of Delta Blues Museum,

We did it!

On behalf of the Delta Blues Museum Board of Directors, staff, students and volunteers, I want to thank each of you who generously donated to help us meet our urgent fundraising goal.

Over one hundred of you helped us raise the necessary $30,000 we needed to match our grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Because of your support, our IMLS "Museums of America" grant will allow us to complete final designs for new permanent exhibits.

The total cost of our exhibit expansion is estimated to be $1.2M. If you didn't have a chance to donate and would like to help us in the next phase of exhibit build-out, consider donating today to help us match our Delta Regional Authority grant of nearly $170,000. Call the Museum at 662-627-6820 to make your donation over the phone, or mail a check to the Delta Blues Foundation, P.O. Box 459, Clarksdale, Mississippi 38614. For online donations, feel free to use this secure PayPal link:

Let's keep Delta Blues Museum growing to continue to share the history and heritage of the Blues with the world.

Thanks for helping us keep the beat!

More about Delta Blues Museum

Established in 1979 by the Carnegie Public Library Board of Trustees and re-organized as a stand-alone museum in 1999, the Delta Blues Museum is Mississippi's oldest music museum and the nation's first museum dedicated to the American art form known as the Blues. A 2013 recipient of the IMLS National Medal for Museum and Library Services--the nation's highest honor for museum and library service to the community--and a 2014 winner of the National Arts & Humanities Youth Program Award, the Delta Blues Museum is dedicated to creating a welcoming place where visitors find meaning, value and perspective by exploring the history and heritage of the unique American musical art form, the Blues. The Museum is honored to be a Great River Road Interpretive Center.
