MVSU Hosts B.B. King Workshop on June 5th

Delta Blues Museum Students to be Featured

The Mississippi Valley State University Ninth Annual B.B. King Blues workshop is scheduled for Friday, June 5, beginning at 9 a.m. The event will culminate with Dr. King conducting his annual workshop from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the H.G. Carpenter auditorium.

The Humanities Workshop/Blues Symposium will feature candid interviews with Bobby Rush, Bill "Howling Madd" Perry and Alonzo Campbell. The symposium will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Business Education Building auditorium.

The fifth annual Musicians' Workshop featuring Bobby Rush, Bill "Howling Madd" Perry and the Delta Blues Museum Band, Jesse Robinson and Eden Brent, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the H.G. Carpenter auditorium. Dr. Alphonso Sanders, chair of the MVSU Fine Arts Department, will serve as moderator.

We are fortunate to have such a wealth of great talent in Clarksdale and from Mississippi ," said Shelley Ritter, Director of the Delta Blues Museum. "We are grateful to MVSU and Mr. King for including our instructors and students in this important workshop."
