We are pleased to announce that the Mississippi Delta Strategic Compact (MDSC) awarded the Delta Blues Museum with this year's "Delta Best" award for outstanding contributions to Tourism in the Delta.
Museum Director Shelley Ritter attended the Second Annual "Future of the Delta" conference held on October 12, 2012, and accepted on behalf of the museum. The conference, held in Greenwood, MS, also recognized individuals and other organizations for their contributions in the areas of Education, Healthcare, and Economic Development. Congressman Bennie G. Thompson received the "Chairman's Award" in honor of his exceptional efforts and their long-term impact.
We at the Delta Blues Museum are thankful for the recognition and honored to share a common cause with the MDSC: Like the MDSC, the Delta Blues Museum is also dedicated to revitalizing the Mississippi Delta region and improving the quality of life for all its citizens.
