DBM Director Shelley Ritter Honored by The Blues Foundation

Each year, The Blues Foundation presents the Keeping the Blues Alive Awards to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to blues music. The KBAs are awarded on the basis of merit to those working to actively promote and document the music.

The DBM family and friends are proud to announce that The Blues Foundation has chosen Museum Director Shelley Ritter as the recipient of the 2013 KBA award for her work in the Historical preservation and documentation of the Blues. We are also proud of fellow Clarksdalian, artist, gallery owner, and musician - Stan Street. Stan will be receiving the 2013 KBA award for Art.

The Blues Foundation will honor 15 individuals and organizations with its 2013 Keeping the Blues Alive (KBA) Awards during a recognition luncheon Friday, February 1, 2013, in Memphis, Tennessee.
