It's #GivingTuesday!

...let's make it a BluesDay

December 3, 2013

Dear Friend,

All of us at the Delta Blues Museum are thankful for, and humbled by, friends like you who support our work. Visitors, members, donors, and friends like you allow us to further our mission and to protect and preserve the musical heritage of the Mississippi Delta and build on that musical tradition through our Arts and Education program, where students of all ages learn to sing and play the Blues.

We are grateful for the recognition from the Institute of Museum and Library Service with a National Medal that was presented by First Lady Michelle Obama at a White House ceremony in May. It's a tremendous honor to receive the Medal and to know that our work has touched so many people.

But we cannot do it alone.

Today, we invite you to support the Delta Blues Museum as part of #GivingTuesday, a national movement to recognize and give back to non-profits making a difference.

There's still time to donate

The Delta Blues Museum

Since 1979, the Delta Blues Museum has been working to support the musical heritage that is the bedrock of American music. From permanent and rotating exhibits to preserving and housing Muddy Waters sharecropper shack, the Delta Blues Museum houses extremely rare and significant pieces of blues music history and culture. Additionally, our Arts and Education Program has produced dozens of area students who have achieved academic excellence, by connecting and engaging them in a musical art form that connects their community with the world. This year our program was one of 50 finalists for a National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award.

These are just a few examples of the museum's work. Your gift to the Delta Blues Museum on #GivingTuesday helps make it possible for us to continue our work through educational exhibits and programs which help preserve and promote the great American musical art form known as the Blues.

On this day of giving back, we hope you'll join us. Please consider a gift to the Delta Blues Museum today.

Thank you!

We really can't say it enough - so we'll say it again here. Thank you. We have the best group of members and supporters that we could ask for, and it's because of you that we have had such a great year.

Help Us Expand Our Exhibits

The DEEPER ROOTS campaign is currently underway to raise funds to expand current exhibits and create new installations that feature the history of Clarksdale's Blues culture, as told by the musicians and the music they created. Join the campaign today!
