Celebrating Tuesday’s opening of the Delta Blues Museum ’s new exhibit of Charlie Musselwhite memorabilia honoring the blues celebrity through the years are (from left) Yvonne Stanford, museum board member and director of libraries at Coahoma Community College ; Shelley Ritter, museum director; the honoree who performed with his band; and CCC president Dr. Vivian Presley. Performing during the exhibit opening Tuesday night at the Delta Blues Museum is internationally-renowned harmonica and guitar virtuoso Charlie Musselwhite who also is being honored Friday with a Mississippi Blues Trail Marker in Kosciusko, his birth place. Pictured with him are his guitarist Matt Stubbs and drummer June Core. The band has been touring through North Carolina and is booked this week in Oxford and New Orleans with the Blind Boys of Alabama. The museum exhibit is titled ‘Charlie Musselwhite – Son of Mississippi, Citizen of the World.’
