Dorothy Moore Sings National Anthem for JPD Recruits

Dorothy Moore, best known for Misty Blue, will sing the National Anthem a cappella for the Jackson Police Department recruit graduation. Thirty-seven recruits will graduate on Friday, March 19, 2009, at Thalia Mara Hall, 10:00 AM, Jackson, MS.

Moore was pleased when her niece called to invite her to sing at the graduation. She quickly agreed. Sherilyn Ann Taylor will be among the new graduates. “I’m excited that Sherilyn will soon be a Jackson Police Officer,” said Moore. “I’m proud to be there to see her become Officer Taylor.”

Long time newscaster Bert Case once said “I’ve been in this business over 30 years and heard the National Anthem sung thousands of times. But you haven’t heard it until you hear Dorothy Moore sing it. It brought tears to my eyes.”

The public is invited.
